COVID-19 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS SHOP UPDATES

 

Chameleon Ink Tattoo and Body Piercing is taking additional sanitation and client intake measures to ensure the health of our clients, employees, and loved ones amidst this pandemic.

As members of the general public, our ability to work is essential to the wellbeing of our employees and loved ones in a mental, physical, and financial sense. Limiting our, and our loved ones and clients, exposure to COVID-19 is an essential part of our duties as well. 

 

According to the CDC, W.H.O, and the Gates Foundation, Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 is not spread by blood or body fluids such as sweat or saliva. It is spread by an infected person, even asymptomatic carriers, coughing or sneezing and entering someone else’s respiratory system via infected droplets. 

 

In addition to our artists and practitioners current Washington State educated and licensed blood borne pathogens  containment and disposal procedures, including spore testing, autoclave sterilizing, and shop sterilization, we will be implementing the following measures in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.

 

We will be limiting the number of people in the building as much as possible. 

For piercings, we will continue to schedule appointments for our piercers via phone, email, and Facebook message. 

Tattoos will still be scheduled as usual with an artist via email, phone, or Facebook message with a deposit paid to hold the appointment. 

CLIENT PROCEDURES

ALL CLIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK

ALL CLIENTS MUST DEPOSIT PHONE AND WALLET IN ZIPLOC BAG THEN SANITIZE HANDS; THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE THE BAG WITH YOUR STUFF. IT MUST REMAIN IN THE BAG THE ENTIRE TIME YOU ARE IN THE SHOP UNTIL CHECKOUT.

NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK WILL BE ALLOWED

Please call ahead as often as you can to check availability for appointments

Clients entering shop must keep 6 feet apart, the lobby has markings to let you know where you can stand/sit

We will limit lobby space for people selecting jewelry for their piercing and checking in/out for their service.

  • Appointments accepted for both piercings and tattoos, you will be instructed to fill out paperwork ahead of time. We will send you a link to complete the forms. When you arrive, call in to let us know, and we will let you know via call or text when to come in.

  • We will also be taking every client’s temperature with a no-contact thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 99 degrees F or over will be turned away.

  • If you are at the shop for a piercing service, we will call/text you to come in when the piercer is set up and have you choose jewelry.

  • When we call you in for your service, you must deposit your personal items into a ziplock bag where they must remain the entire time you are in the shop until checkout. We will then have you sanitize your hands.

  • After your service is done, you can remove your phone/wallet from the bag to complete checkout. 

 

We will provide bottled water to clients as needed. Please eat or drink prior to coming to the shop.

We will be limiting bathroom use as we will need to sanitize it after each use. Please use the bathroom at home before or after visiting the shop.

JEWELRY PURCHASES

We are allowing clients to come in to view jewelry depending on how many clients we currently have in shop. We may ask you to wait outside for a few minutes to keep lobby traffic low. We have also listed our jewelry in our shop so you can browse online, then purchase online and pickup or pay in store at pickup. We are not able to arrange shipping options at this time, please bear with us! 

 

ADDITIONAL SANITIZING PROTOCOL

  • Have each client wear a mask to limit possible contagion

  • Have each client place personal items in a gallon sized sealed bag ( you can use your phone through a clear ziplock) to limit possible contagion, and we are asking that clients please bring the absolute minimum of personal items. If it can’t fit in the ziplock you will have to leave it in your car.

  • Have clients sanitize hands after they arrive and after any possible contamination

  • Hang shields in front of jewelry counter and register

  • Limit lobby space and provide markers to keep clients distanced

  • Wipe down every counter surface, seat, and door handle after each client

  • Sanitize bathroom surfaces after each client use

  • Continued Blood-borne Pathogens safety protocol for every service 

  • Counter staff will wear new gloves for each client 

  • All shop staff will be wearing masks, gloves, and other protective equipment such as aprons and sleeves.

  • We are asking anyone in a HIGH RISK GROUP to please stay home 

  • We are continuing to sanitize all shop surfaces with hospital grade germicide after each client service as we always have.

  • All of our services are performed in separate rooms which are individually cleaned and sanitized after each client. 

 

OTHER INFORMATION

  • We will be experiencing a large increase in wait times for each service. Please be patient and understand it is for everyone’s health and safety

  • Please do not bring friends, family, or your children with you for a service. To limit the number of people in the shop we will not be doing minor piercings at this time since minors require a chaperone.

  • We will be utilizing a texting app as well as online shopping options to help with communications and jewelry purchases.

  • We will still be accepting cash

  • We will be very flexible regarding rescheduling during this confusing chaotic time. Deposits are still nonrefundable but we will always try to reschedule for a better time.

  • We are increasing our piercing prices

  • To accommodate all our clients we may be extending our shop hours. We will post on social media if we do!
